In continuation of a tradition we started years ago at our Orcas Island 50k/25k this film festival is devoted solely to trail running and trail runners to support the trail running film industry, further the sport, inspire us all and give us something fun to do when we aren't running. As the Orcas race became more and more popular we quickly grew too big for our venue so the film festival went into hibernation for a couple years. The Edgefield provides a perfect venue to host the film fest now in conjunction with another one of our very popular races the Gorge Waterfalls 50k.
We are getting a great response so far from the running community! Look for us to expand soon perhaps this summer or fall or at least by 2014 to include more DIY videos, shorts, full length films and to expand to two or three days. We will also probably be taking the film fest on tour to various cities probably starting just in the Pacific Northwest but hopefully eventually way beyond the mossy kingdom!
